The Force Unleashed

I’m looking forward to snagging the RPG book (which I expect to have a variety of shiny force powers, dark side and otherwise), but this is about the Wii game.

It’s primarily 1 player (boo), but it’s an action brawler which encourages you to force choke, throw, lightning bolt, blast, chuck your lightsaber, and really, just all out brawl as Vader’s secret apprentice.

The Wii version includes a fair number of gestures which leave my hands shaking, including a God of War style ‘finishing move’ for bosses which no doubt is more complicated on other plaforms. Nevertheless, I spent this evening blowing frustration by smashing rebels, stormtroopers, and rogue robots (wtfrobotgraveyard) and enjoying it. Lots of OCD value, not sure how _long_ the game is, but worth turning on to just stomp around and have fun.

So far, so good.

Hm. keeping track of life is hard.

Got just a tad bit behind on posting.  Ah, well. It happens.  The last three weeks have been hellish – work’s dysfunctionality has gone from nuisance to AAAAAAAAAAARRRGH! in no time flat.  I’m spending a lot of time running around shouting at managemen these days; it’s only a matter of time before I perform some kind of CLM.

Jailbroken iPhone lost it’s jailbrokenness Friday because 2.1 was getting good reviews and seemed to improve battery life and reception. I’ll add a yea vote to that list – it’s working niice. I’m now laughing my ass off, because Apple made iTunes 8 reject jailbroken iPhones… but with the new 2.1 jailbreak, the iPhone Dev Team has worked around this sad attempt at control. I always laugh at these exchanges – it’d frustrate the hell out of me if I was the developer, but at this point it’s like watching the Keystone Kops chase Batman.

Nobilis came in a while ago, and continues to impress. It’s pretty, it’s fun to read, and I look forward to trying to run it sometime. We’ll see if I’m ever good enough to – just need to practice.

Asombroso is tequila unlike any other tequila I’ve had. It’s head and shoulders above Patron; more flavor, less “gah! tequila!” aftertaste, it’s fruity and pleasant to drink straight. I’m curious about a version they make that’s been aged in bordeaux barrels for three months. Pink tequila can only be strange.
