Hm. I can see the smoke clouds peering over the hills still – the fires are still going strong. Flash Earth tells me the smoke is blowing south today, and while it still seems to me that the whole state’s on fire, I’m not seeing any suspicious plumes in the golden hills around San Luis Obispo – it’s relatively light there.

Hackity hack. Still tinkering, and I think I know what I want and roughly how to do it. I just need to stop working with this hinky theme and start from something a little more stable. ‘k2′ has been recommended. Also noted somewhere there’s a framework builder for themes.
One way or another, I will get it right.
I don’t even _want_ to know how this looks in IE now.
