Wordpress is easy.

Getting started today – trying to get dreamlibrarian.net up and running.

This site is intended almost entirely for my own use; a linkroll is the primary element I need.  del.icio.us does most of the work for me – I may be able to get by with a couple plugins to WordPress… or I may actually find wordpress easier, we’ll see.

The AJAXiness of WP appeals – makes it feel less like I’m cramming things into a medium barely intended for layout and more like I’m using a real application.

The other big element is that I’m paying for a virtual server from OpenHosting – it’s a hell of a lot more expensive than basic webhosting – I’m paying $20 a month instead of $5 – but more reliable response quality and I get root on my own box, which gives me a lot of freedom.  Nethack went on there first thing.

Memorial Day weekend has been nice for brief moments of hacking about.  We’ll see if I want to keep this at the cost.
